How we measure
We measure the same things in the same way at every hotel, so you can compare them.
Three verification levels
The level tells you how certain the details are, not how accessible the hotel is. Measured and verified details always rank above a hotel's own report.
- Level 1 of 3 · Self-reported by the hotel
The hotel has entered its basic details and assessed its own accessibility. Nothing has been measured or checked.
- Level 2 of 3 · Measured by the hotel in our app
The hotel measured each item with our app. Photos taken in the app carry the time and place.
- Level 3 of 3 · Audited on site
Our auditor visited the hotel and measured every accessible room in person.
What we measure
- Arrival and parking, entrance, reception and lifts
- Every accessible room type separately: doors, turning space, bed and space for a hoist
- Bathroom: shower, toilet, grab rails and emergency cord
- Floor surfaces and lighting
- Restaurant, breakfast, pool, sauna and gym
- The needs of guests with hearing or vision impairments
- Allergy-friendly rooms, emergencies and evacuation
The basis of our method
Our method is based on the Finnish accessibility decree (241/2017), but the measurements and standards are our own. Our aim is to make hotels as accessible as possible, so in some places we are stricter than the decree. This is not a certificate and does not confirm compliance with building regulations.
